The UK government is pushing for new oil and gas fields. We can't let them.

Amidst rising gas prices and soaring profits for fossil fuel companies, the UK government is siding with the industry to advocating for more oil and gas fields. This will only make the problem worse. The solution to the gas crisis is cheap renewable energy - not more gas.

With gas prices spiralling out of control and millions experiencing fuel poverty, it is becoming increasingly clear that the UK must end its reliance on fossil fuels. The solutions are right in front of our eyes - but government action is lagging behind.

What is the UK government's Climate Compatibility Checkpoint?

The UK government has launched a consultation for their climate compatibility checkpoint - which they claim will ensure that new oil & gas licenses are only awarded if they align with reaching net zero by 2050. But we know there is no such thing as a climate compatible oil and gas project today.
