Digital Day of Action Against Equinor

Rosebank is the biggest undeveloped oil field in the North Sea. Burning its oil and gas would create more than the combined annual CO2 emissions of the 28 lowest-income countries. We need to #StopRosebank - the biggest field deserves the biggest fight.

Rosebank’s owner Equinor is a Norwegian state-owned oil giant which cares hugely about its reputation, investing heavily in advertising to present themselves to the people of Norway as a responsible energy company committed to net zero. In reality, they are relentlessly focused on developing new oil and gas fields, whatever the price.

That’s why, on Tuesday 25th October, Greenpeace Norge, Stopp Oljeletinga, Friends of the Earth Scotland and Stop Cambo are taking the fight to Equinor. We're bringing people together in solidarity from across the UK and Norway with a range of mass digital actions targeting Equinor and demanding that they #StopRosebank.

Here's the plan: we will be hosting two open Zoom sessions where you can join other people taking action, meet some friendly faces and ask any questions you might have before diving in:

Session 1: 8:00am - 9:15am BST / 9:00am - 10:15am CEST

Session 2: 5:00pm - 6:15pm BST / 6:00pm - 7:15pm CEST

We will also send round information which you can use to take action in your own time if you can’t join us on Zoom.

This digital day of action is open to everyone. Newcomers are more than welcome, we would love to see you there! You don’t need any prior experience: we will be there to answer questions and guide you through the actions in a safe, supportive space.

Exposing Equinors true colours and removing their social licence to operate is a crucial step towards stopping Rosebank and new oil and gas projects in the UK. That’s why we’re coming together as activists in Norway and the UK to send a clear message to Equinor and oil companies across the world: no new oil and gas.

Ready to #StopRosebank and show Equinor that we won’t be fooled by their greenwashing? Join us!
